In 2018 we decided that maintenance in the back garden was really too challenging and in 2021 we moved ‘Cachalette’ down to Suffolk permanently.

The last time we did winter maintenance in Matlock Bath was 2018 when she was stored on the front patio, not much easier than the back garden for moving in and out!

We cancelled our membership at Carsington Sailing Club and kept her overwinter at Penny’s house, where Steve could do the maintenance, until 2021. After checking out prices and options at Eversons (Woodbridge Boatyard) and Robertsons Boatyard we reviewed the pros and cons for both and decided on Robertsons. This limits the amount of towing and makes taking her out much easier since there’s a well maintained slipway. Baz Brackenbury who had made the winter cover for ‘Cachalot’ made us an excellent fully fitted cover for ‘Cachalette’ to keep the weather out all year round.
